An opening has arisen in our accounts team for an Accounts Assistant to join our practice, the ideal candidate will have relevant experience and be looking for the next step in their career. You will be passionate about cloud accounting and technology and enjoy developing and maintaining client relationships.

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Preparation of year end accounts for sole traders, partnerships and companies
  • Preparation of regular management reporting
  • Preparation of corporate and business tax computations
  • Provide advice on existing in house systems and identify potential improvements to increase quality, efficiency and service levels
  • Managing workload to ensure deadlines are met whilst always maintaining a high level of service
  • Working with a varied client portfolio, the role will involve regular client contact
  • Liaising with managers, partners and other staff

To be considered for this position you should have the following:

  • Ideally a minimum of two years previous experience working within an accountancy firm - essential
  • Ideally you either be qualified or working towards a professional qualification such as ACCA although we will consider applicants qualified by experience
  • Have excellent communication skills
  • Have strong IT skills
  • Knowledge of systems such as Xero/Quickbooks essential
  • Knowledge of systems such as Sage advantageous
  • Be able to work on own initiative and take responsibility for own workload
  • Have good technical/analytical skills
  • Be comfortable liaising with clients via email/phone/in person as a key part of the role is developing and maintaining client relationships
