Apprentice Estimator

We’re looking for an Apprentice Estimator to join 7formation – a fast-growing construction and fit-out company working with major brands like Next, Adidas and Travis Perkins.
This is a great opportunity to get into the commercial side of construction, helping price and win projects.
What does an Estimator do?
Estimators work out how much construction projects will cost.
You’ll learn how to:
- Break down drawings and understand what’s needed to build a project
- Get prices from suppliers and subcontractors
- Help prepare bids (tenders) to win new work
- Make sure projects are priced accurately and competitively
What you’ll be doing day-to-day
You’ll support our estimating team while learning on the job:
- Assisting with pricing construction projects and tenders
- Sending enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers
- Comparing quotes and helping find the best value
- Learning how to measure quantities from drawings (take-offs)
- Supporting tender submissions and deadlines
- Working with teams across the business (QS, Project Managers, Buying)
- Helping review project details and flag risks or missing information
You’ll be supported by experienced Estimators who will help you develop your skills.
Your apprenticeship journey
You’ll complete:
Construction Quantity Surveying Technician (Cert HE) Higher Apprenticeship – Level 4
- Around 2 years to complete
- Day release to university (ARU – Peterborough)
- Learn core construction, commercial and cost management skills
What we’re looking for:
No experience needed – just the right mindset:
- Interested in construction, numbers, or problem-solving
- Good attention to detail
- Organised and able to meet deadlines
- Confident communicating with others
- Willing to learn and ask questions
Qualifications:
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in English & Maths (Grade 4+)
- A Levels / BTEC or equivalent (or working towards)
Additional:
- A full driving licence (or working towards one) is desirable

Important to know
- You’ll mainly be office-based, with some site exposure
- You may occasionally need to work flexibly to meet tender deadlines
- Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm
