Role Overview

We are seeking a motivated Renewable Energy Apprentice with a keen interest in electrical engineering to join our expanding team. This apprenticeship offers hands-on experience in the renewable energy sector, focusing on solar photovoltaic (PV) systems, battery storage solutions, EV Charging systems and other cutting-edge technologies. You will gain practical skills while earning nationally recognized qualifications, preparing you for a rewarding career in renewable energy.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in the installation, maintenance, and commissioning of renewable energy systems, including solar PV and battery storage solutions.
• Learn to conduct electrical tests and inspections, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.
• Support senior engineers in diagnosing and resolving system faults.
• Participate in site assessments and feasibility studies, contributing to project design and planning.
• Maintain tools, equipment, and materials, ensuring safe and efficient use.
• Collaborate with team members and communicate effectively with clients.
• Stay up-to-date with the latest technologies, standards, and practices in renewable energy and electrical engineering.

What You’ll Learn:

• Electrical engineering fundamentals, focusing on renewable energy systems.
• Installation and maintenance of solar PV systems and associated components.
• Health and safety practices specific to electrical and renewable energy work.
• Problem-solving techniques and fault diagnosis.
• Industry regulations, including wiring standards and grid connection requirements.

Qualifications and Skills:

• A passion for renewable energy and sustainability.
• Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in Math, English, and Science, grade 4/C or above.
• Strong problem-solving skills and a willingness to learn.
• Attention to detail and commitment to high standards of work.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• A proactive approach to challenges and a drive for continuous improvement.
