Job Title: Functional Skills Tutor (Assessor / Tutor)

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours p/w

Salary: £28,000.00 - £35,000.00 per annum

Locations: Peterborough

About the Role

As a Functional Skills Tutor, you will be instrumental in helping learners achieve their goals in Maths and English. Reporting to the Skills Manager, you will deliver high-quality teaching and support to ensure learner success and progression. Your work will play a critical role in maintaining compliance with regulatory, quality, and funding standards while fostering a learner-centred environment.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging Maths and English sessions, both individually and in groups, using online platforms like Teams.

Create and monitor individual learning plans to support learner progression.

Collaborate with delivery teams and provide expert advice on supporting learners effectively.

Drive a 75% first-time pass rate for Functional Skills at Level 2.

Develop schemes of work, lesson plans, and risk assessments to continuously improve teaching quality.

Keep learner management data accurate and up to date.

Actively participate in team meetings, standardization, and sharing best practices.

Contribute to External Quality Assurance processes to maintain low-risk status.

Ensure timely interventions for learners at risk of delayed achievement.

Hold relevant teaching and assessment qualifications.

Thorough understanding of apprenticeship frameworks, funding, and Functional Skills.

Expertise in SEN(D) strategies and additional learning support.
