Full job description

Pontrilas Merchants is looking for a motivated and hands-on Assistant Shop Manager to help with the smooth running of our Trade Counter and Shop area.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with builders’ merchant experience who is committed to providing high quality customer service in the sale of timber and building supplies. .

The Role:

Support daily branch operations (yard, counter & deliveries)
Drive sales and help achieve targets
Build strong relationships with trade and retail customers
Supervise and motivate staff
Oversee stock control
Load Customers with all building materials either by hand or through use of mechanical aid.

About You:

Strong leadership and customer service skills
Commercially aware and target-driven
Organised, proactive and hands-on
Physically fit enough to manage regular lifting and carrying, as well constantly maintaining a standing position

Working Hours:

7:30-17:00 Monday to Friday (with 45 minutes of unpaid breaks per day)

8:00-14:00 every other Saturday (with 30 minutes of unpaid break)
