Barista

Hot Numbers Coffee Ltd is a vibrant and independent coffee roasting business serving fresh and exciting food at our three busy cafés in Cambridgeshire. Our Roastery, in Shepreth, is also the base for our commercial bakery and pizzeria.

As a Barista, you will need to work cohesively with the rest of the Hot Numbers team. Your first point of contact will be the Head Baristas. Furthermore, the Café Manager, Assistant Managers and Supervisors will also be your point of contact. You will be working closely with the Head Barista to ensure you are producing excellent quality drinks (hot and cold) whilst delivering quality customer service.

Main Tasks and Responsibilities:

• To be able to produce our full range of speciality coffee drinks (iced and hot) maintaining excellent quality and standards.
• To be able to talk to customers about our range of speciality coffees and speak confidently about our range of retail coffee.
• Regularly liaising with the Head Barista and Training team to ensure you are adhering to Hot Numbers high standards.
• Ensuring your coffee station and machine is clean and tidy and maintaining a excellent level of cleanliness at all times.
• Work well within the front of house team, taking on tasks that are given to you by your Line Managers, as well as using your own initiative.
• Provide excellent customer service, which includes greeting customers and ensuring they feel welcome.

As a Barista at Hot Numbers your knowledge is expected to exceed just the production of coffee. You are also expected to…

• Have good knowledge of both food and drink menus within the cafes.
• To have excellent knowledge on all our kitchen dishes, so you can communicate with customers when they have any allergen queries (etc).
• To gain knowledge on our till system, taking orders and processing payments in a friendly manner.
• Follow Health and Safety policies, processes, safe working practices and SFBB standards as shown in the training document.
• Understand and comply with company fire procedures.
• Know who the allocated first aiders are and what to do in an emergency.
• Carry out other duties on a regular or ad hoc basis as required or directed to by the Management team.

Availability and hours of work: The successful applicant would be looking to dedicate at least 6 months to the role due to our employee onboarding training program here at Hot Numbers.

Employment: Your starting pay will be reviewed with successful completion of a 3-month probationary period within your role.
