We have an exciting new opportunity for a Bookkeeping and Admin Assistant looking to grow their bookkeeping skills within a small team. Working in a vibrant creative environment, the successful candidate will support our Financial Controller in the smooth running of the accounts department. Acquiring/utilising experience in Xero software, you will play a role in managing day-to-day financial transactions. You will ensure accuracy in bookkeeping and assist in the preparation of financial reports. You will also provide admin support including front of house duties, answering phones, managing timesheets, ordering stationery, photocopying etc.
Key Responsibilities:
Accounts
- Perform daily bookkeeping tasks using Xero
- Process accounts payable and receivable
- Assist in VAT returns and other statutory reporting
- Liaise with suppliers and our inhouse team to resolve queries
- Assist with payroll
- Chase outstanding debtors
Admin Support
- Front of house (answer phones, deal with post/deliveries, welcome clients)
- Provide refreshments for client meetings (make drinks/order in lunch)
- Process timesheets, track staff holidays, lieu, sickness
- Assist General Manager with other HR related task
- Scan, photocopy and print relevant documents
- Order stationery
- Ad hoc duties as reasonable
Full training can be provided, but the successful candidate must demonstrate a strong interest in bookkeeping/accounting.
Required Skills & Experience:
- AAT qualified or studying towards (or equivalent experience)
- Computer literate and proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word & Outlook)
- High attention to detail and accuracy
- Strong organisational and time management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Punctual, committed, and eager to learn
- Experience in an office environment
Bonus Skills/Experience:
- Proficient in Xero accounting software
- Proven experience in a similar accounts assistant / bookkeeping role
- Strong understanding of double-entry bookkeeping
- Familiarity with UK VAT rule

Hours: 37.5hrs per week / 9am – 5 pm

Pay: £21,300.00-£28,350.00 per year
