About Aqueduct Marina: Aqueduct Marina, located in the heart of Cheshire, is a premier marina offering a wide range of services including mooring, boat sales, chandlery, caravans, glamping, and a charming café. Role Overview: As a Business Apprentice, you will support the head office team with the daily operations of the marina. This apprenticeship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in various aspects of the business, from customer service and marketing to sales and general administration. You will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth running of our services and contribute to our goal of providing an exceptional experience for our clients.
Key Responsibilities:
- Customer Service: Answer incoming phone calls, respond to email inquiries, and assist visitors at the office with professionalism and courtesy.
- Marketing Support: Assist with marketing campaigns, social media management, content creation, and updating the company website.
- Sales Assistance: Support the sales team with administrative tasks, prepare sales documents, and assist in coordinating sales activities related to boat sales, chandlery items, and glamping accommodations.
- Administrative Duties: Perform general administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, scheduling appointments, and maintaining office supplies.
- Event Coordination: Help plan and execute marina events and promotions, ensuring all activities run smoothly.
- Financial Tasks: Assist with basic bookkeeping tasks, invoice processing, and maintaining financial records.
- Mooring Assistance: Provide support in managing mooring schedules, assisting clients with their mooring needs, and ensuring all documentation is up-to-date.
- Chandlery Operations: Help manage inventory, assist customers with their purchases, and ensure the chandlery is well-organized and stocked.
- Caravan and Glamping Support: Assist with bookings, guest check-ins, and ensuring the facilities are well-maintained and ready for guests.
- Café Assistance: Support café operations by helping with orders and stock control.
- Project Support: Participate in various projects across different departments, providing support as needed.
- Continuous Learning: Engage in training opportunities to develop your skills and understanding of the marina industry.
Qualifications:
- Education: Minimum GCSEs (or equivalent) in English and Mathematics.
- Skills:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Basic understanding of Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Eagerness to learn and adapt to new tasks.
- Attributes:
- Friendly and approachable demeanour.
- Proactive and motivated with a positive attitude.
- Interest in the marina and boating industry is a plus.
