Your working week will be varied but typical roles and responsibilities will include:
- Answer phone
- Filing
- Manage clerical admin
- Stationery orders
- Stock controls
- Maintain tracking documents
Health and Safety:
- Supporting the team by preparing paperwork
- Updating “myDocsafe” our inhouse customer portal
- Onboarding new clients
- Processing the safety team paperwork
Training:
- Sourcing/Booking training venues
- Preparing training venues
- Booking courses & inputting training on awarding body systems
- Ordering and chasing certificates
- Sending course-related info to the customer
- Ordering equipment and materials
- Ordering lunch and refreshments
- Preparing for audits and standardisation meetings
- Administrate training process
Carlin Store:
- Processing orders
- Packing/picking items
- Completing the administrative process (receipts/delivery notes etc)
On occasion, the role will require working off-site:
- Promote company values and offer
- Prepare whatever is needed for the offsite event (marketing, paperwork, promotional packs, etc.)
As a small business, we work together to provide a good working environment
(All team members are expected to):
- General housekeeping (empty bins and keep workspace tidy)
- Make tea and coffee
Skills Required:
- Attention to detail
- Good computer skills
- Professional telephone manners
- Problem-solving abilities
- Good communication skills
Personal Qualities:
- Can do attitude
- Clean and tidy
- Ability to work as a team
- Have a good understanding of Microsoft (Ideally ICDL/ECDL level)
Qualifications:
- GCSE Maths and English at 4/C or functional equivalent or ability to work towards

Things to consider:
- Must be able to commute on a daily basis to employer as well as to Totton College
- This is an office based role within a family business. We all work together sharing ideas to improve practices.
Job Types:
Full-time 35 hours/week
Schedule:
- Monday to Friday: 9.00am - 5.00pm
Other bonuses:
- 20 days paid holiday plus bank holidays
- Birthday off
- NEST Pension scheme (after 3 months)
Apprenticeship Information:
- Level 3 Business Administrator Apprenticeship Standard
- Level 2 Functional Skills in English and maths (if required)
Much of the training will be undertaken "on the job", supported by regular visits from a qualified assessor. There will also be a requirement for you to attend workshops on a regular basis.
NB. This is an apprenticeship position within Carlin Ltd. All applications are being processed via Totton College.
