Job Overview
The Business Improvement Apprentice will support the Operational Excellence Mangers in driving process improvements and operational efficiency within the Port and Logistics Operations. The role involves assisting in the analysis of current operations, identifying areas for improvement, and participating in the implementation of best practices.
The apprentice will gain hands on experiences in various business improvement methodologies and contribute to projects aimed at enhancing services delivery and operation effectiveness.
Enrolment onto apprenticeship to commence 1 month after starting with the business to allow for a comprehensive induction.
Duties
- Assist in data collection and analysis to identify trends and areas for operational improvement
- Support with the implementation of Lean methodologies and continuous improvement initiatives
- Participate in process mapping and documentation of current operational procedures
- Help develop and maintain performance metrics and dashboards to track progress on improvement projects
- Contribute to project teams focused on specific improvement initiatives, providing input and support as required
- Attend training sessions and workshops to develop skills in business improvement methodologies
- Prepare reports and presentations for the Group Continuous Improvement Manager, summarising findings and recommendations.
Working Monday to Friday 08.30 - 16.30,
35 hours per week
Annual bonus of up to £1,000

GCSE’s in Math’s & English - 9-4 (A*-C) are required
Career progression - Successful development may lead to an opportunity to complete the Improvement Practitioner (Level 4) Apprenticeship
Training and support will be provided by our specialist Apprenticeship training provider, Smart Training & Recruitment.
In order to meet the eligibility criteria for an Apprenticeship in England, you must be able to demonstrate at least three years UK residency, or hold a valid visa that meets the exceptions to this rule.
Please note, as part of the Initial Assessment process, all qualifications will be verified by the Learning Records Service (LRS) via Department for Education
