Café Manager
Homebird Interiors – St Annes
Love great coffee, good food and creating a welcoming space people want to return to? This could be your perfect role.
We’re looking for a passionate and personable Café Manager to take the lead in our lovely in-store café at our St Annes store. This is a rare opportunity to step into a fully established and beautifully set-up café space and truly make it your own.
Our St Annes store has been open for two years and continues to grow in popularity. Around 18 months ago we introduced our in-store café, which has quickly become a much-loved part of the store. It’s helped us welcome new customers while also giving our regulars another reason to visit and stay a little longer.
We have a great relationship with a roastery here in the North-West of England and offer a fantastic cup of coffee, alongside a selection of cakes and pastries. We’d now love to develop a small but exciting light lunch offering, and we’re looking for someone who’s excited to help shape that and bring new ideas.
We’re looking for someone who can bring enthusiasm and fresh ideas to the table as we build a new, dynamic team and develop a light lunch menu ready to launch this summer. This will come with the added support of our in-house marketing team, who are excited to help grow our online and social presence.
About the role
This is very much a hands-on role where you’ll be at the heart of the café day-to-day, while also taking ownership of how it grows and evolves.
You’ll:
- Lead and support a small, friendly café team
- Create a warm, welcoming environment for every customer
- Prepare and serve high-quality drinks and simple food offerings
- Take ownership of the day-to-day running of the café
- Manage stock, ordering and supplier relationships
- Maintain high standards of food safety, hygiene and organisation
- Work closely with our store manager and wider team
One of the real joys of this role is the people - you’ll meet new customers every day, while also building genuine relationships with regulars who come back time and again.
What we’re looking for
We’re looking for someone who is:
- Naturally warm, friendly and great with people
- Confident leading a small team and creating a positive working environment
- Experienced in a café or hospitality setting
- Comfortable working across both front of house and behind the scenes
- A confident barista, able to produce consistently great coffee
- Organised and proactive, with good time management during busy periods
- Genuinely passionate about customer experience, coffee and simple, well-prepared food
Experience in food preparation or a kitchen environment would be a real advantage, as we’re keen to expand our light lunch offering.
A good understanding of food hygiene and safety standards is imperative. Training can be arranged and we are happy to support you in gaining any relevant qualifications if necessary.
Why join us?
This is a unique opportunity to run a café within a well-loved interiors store, with:
- A fully equipped, established café space
- A loyal and growing customer base
- A warm, supportive and friendly team around you
- The freedom to bring your own personality and ideas
- The chance to shape and grow the café offering
- Flexibility on working patterns - may suit someone with other responsibilities or family responsibilities
