Applicants must have substantial hands-on experience in camper van conversions or closely related vehicle fit-out work and be confident working independently in a fast-paced, high-standard workshop.

This role is suited to a technician who takes genuine pride in their craft and consistently works to a high professional standard. It is not suitable for hobbyists or casual builders.

About the Role

You will be responsible for carrying out a wide range of camper van conversion tasks, including mechanical, electrical, and interior fit-out work. You will also represent the business during customer handovers, explaining installed systems clearly and professionally.

  • Fit external accessories such as awnings, bike racks, roof racks/rails, ladders, side bars, alloy wheels, and tow bars
  • Carry out 12v/240v electrical installations, including lighting, solar systems, diesel/gas heaters, and water systems
  • Manufacture and fit internal furniture, kitchens, and utilities
  • Maintain exceptional workmanship and a clean, safe workspace
  • Work confidently both independently and as part of a skilled team
  • Diagnose faults and resolve issues efficiently
  • Deliver professional customer handovers and system demonstrations

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven experience in campervan, motorhome, boat, or coach building
  • Strong hands-on skills across mechanical, electrical, and joinery work
  • Demonstrable experience installing water and heating systems
  • Proficient installation of external leisure vehicle accessories, including awnings, bike carriers, roof rails, and storage solutions
  • Excellent knowledge of 12v electrical systems and gas/water installations
  • Confident use of hand and power tools
  • Professional, reliable, and solution-focused attitude
  • Strong communication and customer service skills
  • Full clean UK driving licence
  • NCC qualification is desirable but not essential

Evidence & References (Essential)

Applicants must provide clear, verifiable evidence of previous professional work, such as photographs of completed projects, reviews, or client feedback.

Professional references are mandatory following offer stage and must be able to confirm the quality of your workmanship, reliability, and professionalism in a commercial environment.

Hours of Work

  • Monday to Friday: 8:00am – 4:30pm
  • Occasional Saturdays required during busy periods (paid overtime).
  • Attendance at trade events throughout the year

What We Offer

  • Competitive salary (dependent on experience)
  • Performance bonus available, based on the successful delivery of projects to schedule and budget.
