Full job description
We enable young people in Africa to build sustainable livelihoods, through supporting vocational training projects.
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a committed individual to work in the unique Workaid shop in Chesham. The potential is immense for the right person to really make their mark and demonstrate their talents. The shop focusses on the sale of refurbished tools, horticultural equipment as well as haberdashery and crafts.
Donated tools and equipment are refurbished by our volunteers and the higher value items sold in the Workaid shop with other items sent to vocational training projects and self-help groups, in East and Southern Africa. Funds generated in the shop help us to fund tangible projects in Africa such as the construction of vocational training workshops in rural secondary schools.
Experience and skills:
- Retail experience, preferably in a charity shop setting
- Good interpersonal skills, with ability to communicate with a diverse range of people, resolve problems and the ability to think on your feet
- Ability to work as part of an effective team and to motivate the team of volunteers
There’s no other organisation like Workaid. You will have a real passion to work for a charity and if you are positive and motivated, we want to hear from you!
Please send your CV with covering letter explaining why you would be the ideal candidate.
