Phoenix Marine has been supplying the world’s leading yacht builders with the finest hydraulics systems for over 4 decades, and due to an increase in customer demand we are delighted to be recruiting for a permanent skilled CNC Turner Programmer / Setter / Operator who can join our progressive machine shop. The role offers an excellent opportunity to join a team who is experiencing a significant level of growth. The ideal candidate will have strong programming skills and a proven history of setting and operating similar CNC machines and a willing to give support to the team.
We are looking for a candidate with a Turning bias that can add immediate value to the team via their experience. As a CNC Programmer / Setter / Operator within our team, you will be responsible for programming lathes using Fanuc + Siemens controls.
Working at Phoenix you will be manufacturing a wide variety of components ranging from low batch bespoke work to medium batch quantities for production.
Responsibilities:
- Program, Set up and operate CNC turning machines to produce precision parts according to specifications
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, and work orders to determine machining requirements
- Monitor machine operations and make adjustments as necessary to ensure quality and efficiency
- Inspect finished parts using precision measuring instruments to ensure conformance to specifications
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment
- Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work area
Skills:
- Proficient in operating CNC turning machines.
- Mill-turn experience is desirable
- Experience working on lathes with sub spindles would be beneficial
- Strong understanding of machining principles, tooling, and materials
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and work orders
- Knowledge of programming languages such as G-code or M-code is a plus
- Excellent attention to detail and ability to perform accurate measurements using precision instruments
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot machine issues
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment

Our basic working hours are Mon-Fri 07:30-16:00 + Overtime when available.
