Job Overview

The Cornerstone is a community café and Christian bookshop in the heart of Grove. We pride ourselves on our welcome and our delicious home cooked food. We are run by a board of trustees from the local churches and a small team of paid staff. We are more of a family than a business, with many regular customers who come back time and again.

We are seeking a skilled Cook to join our family, Monday, Thursday and Friday 9.15-2.15pm. The ideal candidate will have experience in a busy kitchen and have already passed food hygiene level two.

Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes from our menu
- Ensure food preparation meets food safety standards
- Maintain a clean and organised kitchen area
- Work well in a team with kitchen staff and volunteers to ensure timely food delivery

Qualifications
- Previous experience in a similar role is desirable
- Food Hygiene level 2
- Ability to work well under pressure in a busy kitchen environment
- Strong communication skills and ability to work as part of a team

There is no requirement for the role to be held by a Christian, but candidates are expected to be respectful of the Christian faith.
