Full job description
Stirling Carers Centre is a well‑regarded and successful charity providing tailored information, advice, emotional and practical support to children, young people and adults who provide unpaid care to a relative or friend who, due to illness, disability, mental health conditions or addiction, could not manage without their help.
We are seeking an experienced and proactive Digital Communications Officer to lead the delivery of our digital communications and support the continued development of our digital services.
About the role
The Digital Communications Officer has ownership of day‑to‑day digital communications across our website, social media platforms and e‑bulletins, ensuring a consistent, engaging and accessible online presence. Working closely with the Communications Officer, you will plan and create high‑quality content, gather stories from across the organisation, and use insight and analytics to continually improve our reach and impact. The role also offers the opportunity to contribute to digital development, including identifying and testing new tools and approaches that enhance service delivery and organisational efficiency.
The role offers flexible working hours and a mix of home and office working. The postholder must be able to attend in‑person meetings and events and therefore be based within commuting distance of Stirling.
Key responsibilities
- Plan, create and manage content across social media, website and e‑bulletins
- Develop engaging, accessible content that reflects carers’ voices and experiences
- Maintain and improve website content and user experience
- Produce regular e‑bulletins for carers and professional partners
- Monitor performance and use data to improve reach and engagement
- Contribute to digital development, including identifying new tools and ways of working
About you
- Proven experience in digital communications or related fields, ideally in the voluntary or public sector, with a strong portfolio of previous work
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in British English
- Strong editorial skills with excellent attention to detail
- Confident managing your own workload and working independently
- Good understanding of social media, CMS platforms and analytics tools
- Creative, organised and able to adapt to changing priorities
- Values‑driven, with an understanding of or empathy for unpaid Carers
