We are currently looking to recruit an Domestic Operative to join our amazing team.
You will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of our properties, including complete cleaning of empty rooms and flats and making beds in order to make them ready for new residents, bagging and tagging resident’s belongings as required, cleaning communal areas in all properties and resident bedrooms as required, cleaning offices and toilets and ad hoc duties as required. Please note this is a very physical role, as there will often be occasions where lifting furniture, and carrying cleaning equipment will be required.
The hours for this position are 37.5 hours per week, working shifts of 8.30am – 5.00pm, or 9.00am-5:30pm, five days over seven, and a minimum of 1 in 4 weekends.
At AMAT, we are focused on delivering the best service we can to our service users, and operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year service in order to achieve this. As such, you will be required to work bank holidays (including Christmas day and New Year’s Day on a rota basis). Therefore, flexibility is key to this role!
The ideal candidate will be proactive and self-motivated, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude to work. You will also need to have excellent communication skills, and the ability to deal with a variety of cleaning situations including cleaning bodily fluids. A full driving license is essential to this role due to the location of our properties (Various Medway and Maidstone locations).
Experience in a similar role and COSHH training would be an advantage, however we do provide a comprehensive training package and welcome applications from those with transferable skills who are passionate about working in a role such as this in this sector!
