Full job description
Job Title: Driver Trainer & Performance Instructor
Location: North West England
Job Type: Full-Time
Working Week: Monday to Friday – Occasional weekend work
Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Driver Trainer & Performance Instructor to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for training drivers to enhance their skills, improve safety, and optimize driving performance. This role will involve conducting training sessions, assessing driver capabilities, and providing coaching to ensure compliance with company and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver driver training programs in person, including defensive driving, fuel efficiency, and safe driving practices.
- Assess driver performance through practical evaluations and theoretical assessments.
- Develop and update training materials to align with industry best practices and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct on-road, and simulator-based training sessions.
- Provide feedback and coaching to drivers to improve overall performance.
- Monitor and analyse driving data to identify areas for improvement.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
- Keep up to date with the latest industry developments, driving techniques, and legislation.
- Assist with onboarding and induction training for new drivers.
Key Requirements:
- Class 1 licence with Proven experience as a driver trainer, instructor, or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of road safety laws, defensive driving techniques, and fuel-efficient driving.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to deliver engaging training sessions to diverse learner groups.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to assess driver performance data.
- Certification in driver training or coaching (preferred but not required).
- Experience working in transport, logistics, or fleet management is advantageous.
