Alabaré are looking to recruit an Enablement & Transition Support Worker for our Homeless Service in Chippenham.

This exciting position will provide support and advice around accommodation for a caseload of vulnerable people who live in short-term accommodation. You will work collaboratively with other professionals, signposting when required to achieve positive health and housing outcomes.

Job Specifics:

  • Hourly rate £13.19 rising to £13.59 after completing a successful probation period.
  • Annual salary of £25,720.50 rising to £26,500.50.
  • 37.5 hours per week, Flexible over a 7-day rota to include evenings, weekends and bank holidays .

Benefits:

  • Double time on nominated bank holidays.
  • Minimum of 24 days holiday (FTE) plus Bank Holidays.
  • Paid travel time with mileage paid at 45p per mile.

  • Where applicable, Sleepovers are paid at a competitive rate of £70 per sleep.

In return for this, we are looking for someone who has:

  • A Willingness to learn.
  • You must be currently resident in the UK.
  • You must have the right to work in the UK.
  • You must be confident working as part of a team and on your own.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Can maintain professional boundaries at all times.
  • You must be friendly and well-organised with an excellent work ethic.
  • We require someone with a listening ear and willingness to see a task through to the end.
  • An understanding of when and where to signpost is essential.
  • Previous experience of working in supported housing or related field would be advantageous.

Alabaré are committed to ensuring the wellbeing and safety of all our service users, this includes developing, implementing and maintaining effective recruitment policies and procedures to promote the safeguarding of children, young people and vulnerable adults. Before commencing employment, the HR Department undertakes pre-employment checks on all applicants who have been offered a job with the Charity. These checks include an Enhanced DBS, which will be renewed every 3 years, the right to live and work in the UK, as well as two satisfactory references.

All staff will be required to complete training on Safeguarding Adults and Young People within their first week of employment.
