Job Role:
You will join our professional Engineering teaching team in working towards creating and delivering excellent teaching, learning and assessment on our courses at our Aldridge Academy. Ideally, you will have a deep understanding of Mechanical Tool making and tool design (other engineering disciplines would be advantageous).

Essential Skills
▪ Proficient user of 3D CAD systems.
▪ A Technical Engineering apprenticeship.
▪ Appropriate Craft or Technician Qualification.
▪ Excellent problem solving and innovation qualities.
▪ Computer Literate.

Preferred Skills
▪ Demonstrable knowledge of tool design.
▪ Previous progression press tool experience.
▪ Previous Precision progression toolmaking experience.
▪ Modular tooling design capability.
▪ HND or equivalent in Manufacturing or Design Engineering
▪ Visi experience.
▪ Bench toolmaking experience with progression press.
▪ Leadership experience.
▪ CNC/EDM Machining experience.

The individual must be technically or industrially competent within Mechanical Manufacturing Engineering Tool Making/Design and have a broad theoretical knowledge relating to mechanical engineering.

You will also ideally have experience in teaching but this is not an essential requirement as we would also consider applications from candidates who may not have teaching experience but who have recent industry experience of working in these fields. Experience as an IQA is also desirable.

You ideally will have experience of teaching or working in mechanical engineering environment. You will have strong organisation skills, the ability to prioritise workloads and will benefit from being part of a dedicated and supportive team, working in a varied and interesting role with a variety of opportunities for career development.
