Event Manager

Location: The Brighton Centre, Kings Road, BN1 2GR

Salary: £28,000 - £30,000 per annum dependant on experience

Days of work: Any 5 days out of 7 days per week

Hours of work: 9 am - 5 pm (40 hours per week, with flexibility needed as hours can vary depending on each event)

We are looking for a driven Hospitality Events Manager to join the team at our events venue in Brighton.

The Brighton Centre hosts conferences, events, exhibitions, meetings, festivals and concerts with a capacity of up to 5,500. The position of Events Manager is a fast paced and dynamic role with a requirement of high levels of attention to detail and plenty of personality. In addition, we also run pop up events around the city from weddings to corporate events.

The Role

  • Supervise the successful running and hosting of conferences and events.
  • Supervise the Conference and Events team when on shift and deal with any staff requirements
  • Pre planning and delivery of events calendar.
  • Ensure you and your team deliver exceptional service and hospitality throughout the business.
  • Responsible for managing all meetings and events floor operations to deliver exceptional service and hospitality throughout the business.
  • Co-ordinate and liaise between departments to ensure the smooth running of an event, whilst ensuring professionalism and an excellent service is always provided.
  • Implement and maintain an effective process of communication and briefings to ensure all teams are focused and up to date with current issues, requirements, menus and objectives.
  • Ensure that health and safety obligations are followed.

The Person

  • A real peoples person with great energy and personality.
  • A team attitude. Must be willing to help in all areas as required.
  • Experience within Conference and Events Operations in a Supervisory Role and above.
  • Bar experience, preferably at a supervisor level
  • Previous experience of working in a high-volume events operation, with a proven track record of delivering results.
  • A strong, ambitious individual, looking for a challenge, driven by 100% customer satisfaction.
  • Operational experience in a variety of concepts including banqueting, events and conferences.

Preferred:

  • Personal license holder
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Level 2 food safety
