About the Role:
The Events and Marketing Executive at Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce is responsible for the planning, organising, managing, and executing various events, including our annual awards ceremony, the ICON Awards. This role is vital for ensuring effective communication with our members and the general public and maximising the value our chamber delivers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Event Management & Delivery: Plan and organise a program of events with inputs from the board and our business development executive. This includes creating and promoting events on our booking system and coordinating with the Business Development Executive as and when required.
- Annual Awards Ceremony Management: Key role in the management and delivery of our annual awards ceremony, usually held in September each year.
- Communication Plan Execution: Develop and execute a communications plan targeting our members and key stakeholders.
- Website Management: Update the Inverclyde Chamber of Commerce website with the latest information and updates when required.
- Newsletter Creation: Develop and distribute weekly e-newsletters with relevant content to the ICC membership and wider when appropriate.
- Social Media Management: Update social media channels to ensure active online presence and engagement with relevant content in line with the communication plan.
- Accounts Liaison: Work closely with our accounts department to ensure seamless operations as and when necessary.
- Activity Monitoring: Track and document all marketing activities, performance metrics, and key insights throughout the month to support reporting and strategy optimisation.
- Independent Owner: Ability to follow up and follow through on assigned workload, ensuring tasks are completed timely and efficiently.
- Uphold brand standards.
Skills and Qualifications Required:
- Degree in Marketing, Business, Event Management, or related field.
- Proven experience in event management
- Proficiency in using event management platforms.
- Solid understanding of social media
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of organisation and ability to manage multiple deadlines and projects.
- Attention to detail and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong initiative with the ability to work independently while also fostering team collaboration.
Desirable:
- Proficiency in web management tools and content management systems, including MailChimp and Eclincher.
- Experience using Canva for design and content creation.
- Proven ability to manage budgets and expenses effectively.
The ideal candidate for this role is adept at event planning and execution, can effectively manage a multitude of tasks, has excellent communication skills, and is a team player. Experience in digital marketing, social media management, and website management is highly beneficial.
This role would be ideal for third year/Honours year undergraduate/postgraduate students and graduates who are/were undertaking their studies in marketing, business, events management, or other related degrees, and are also seeking part-time work.
