Overview
A highly organised and creative thinker, the Events Lead takes full ownership of event planning, management, and execution. This role is critical in driving the success and reputation of all events at Spark:York, from initial concept to post-event analysis. In addition to delivering exceptional experiences, the Events Lead develops the event strategy, leads cross-functional teams, manages STUDIOS, and oversees budgets. The Events Lead ensures that all events align with Spark’s brand values, commercial goals, and community mission.
Duties
- Develop and execute a cohesive event strategy that supports the organisation's business objectives and enhances the Spark brand.
- Supervise, mentor, and coordinate team members and any external contractors to ensure seamless event delivery.
- Lead all phases of event execution — from ideation, planning, and logistics through on-site management, evaluation, and reporting.
- Act as the primary liaison with clients, traders, and community partners to ensure event success and ongoing relationships.
- Own the financial planning for events, including preparing detailed budgets, negotiating contracts, managing expenditure, and reporting on event ROI.
- Oversee the setup, maintenance, and breakdown of event spaces, ensuring all facilities meet operational and aesthetic standards.
- Maintain and optimise the events calendar to ensure diverse, high-impact programming year-round.
- Ensure all events comply with relevant health & safety regulations, licensing requirements, and site legislation.
- Collaborate with the marketing team to drive event attendance.
