Experienced/Trainee Welding and Fabrication Tutor – Norwich

£28,000 to £38,000 Per Annum

Full Time Permanent

Are you a Welding/Fabrication Tutor or an experienced Welder and interested in tutoring aspiring professionals within the industry? At Swarm REAGIT we are looking for an individual who is passionate about training students to become highly skilled within the engineering industry.

As part of Swarm Training CIC, Swarm REAGIT is the technical arm of the training business, offering a range of commercial, full cost, and apprenticeship delivery to the engineering and wider industries. Training is provided in Norwich, providing a convenient location for potential applicants.

We are a fast-growing Engineering training provider based near Carrow Road at the historic Laurence Scott site, where we will be able to support around 300 apprentices in a unique, high-quality environment for the future of the engineering sector.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate welding techniques
  • Show apprentices how to safely operate tools and equipment
  • Teach a wide range of welding and fabrication activities
  • Support and provide feedback to students
  • Conduct practical and theory lessons with apprentices
  • Ensure you are complying with Health and Safety Standards
  • Teach apprentices the importance of Health and Safety procedures
  • Be well prepared with excellent planning skills to deliver high quality learning
  • Adhere to and understand Company Policies as identified within the Staff Handbook
  • You will be working with apprentice candidates in a mix of companies including large well-known brands and in a range of sectors

Qualifications and Requirements

  • Experienced in MMA, TIG, and MIG Welding skills
  • Knowledge of welding different materials and techniques including pipe and plate
  • Ability to provide constructive feedback and guidance to students
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Certification in welding or relevant field
  • Previous experience in the engineering industry

Desirable

  • Relevant teaching qualification and teaching/assessing skills are desired but not essential as full in-house training will be given to the successful candidate.

Welder becoming a tutor

Although an experienced Welding and Fabrication tutor is desired, we are open to experienced industry experts who have an interest in teaching the next generation. We can provide full training to make this career switch in your initial employment.

Future progression

As the centre grows, we are keen for the right team member to take a more senior role within their team.

Personal Qualities

You will be enthusiastic, self-motivated, supportive, have excellent experience and levels of understanding within the field and who is able to manage their time effectively to meet the individual needs of our valued apprentices and employers. You will have the ability to work as part of a team and take on constructive feedback.

Remuneration

  • £28,000 to £38,000 per annum based on experience
  • 5 days per week
  • Core working hours are 40 hours per week from 8:30am to 4:30pm, Monday to Friday
  • Start date - asap
