Full job description

This role offers a diverse working routine with the ideal candidate taking a proactive role taking responsibility for the company’s facilities, including buildings, grounds, and fleet of vehicles. This is a hands-on role and will involve a varied workload combining both planned and reactive maintenance.

The ideal candidate will:

Identify, action, and report any known defects or damage to appliances, furniture or equipment, and identify any other potential hazards.

Be able to work independently, using their own initiative and the available resources to overcome issues with vehicles and buildings.

Have good communication skills, be able to liaise with other staff members to arrange scheduled vehicle repairs, servicing, MOTs and safety checks.

Be confident to deal with suppliers, professionals and tradespeople to arrange repairs to buildings and vehicles.

Be confident with all aspects of basic vehicle maintenance. This will include tyre pressure checks, oil level checks, vehicle cleaning, maintaining vehicle logs and check sheets.

Be confident with basic Health and Safety and ‘DIY’ skills. This may include basic repairs to our buildings, installing equipment, carrying out regular Health and Safety checks, PAT testing and audits.

Be confident and willing to drive large MPV type vehicles along with other vehicles in the company’s fleet and support the management with training and assessing staff with driving evaluations.

Be happy and capable of working outside and inside, this role includes some lifting, carrying and delivering stock orders and other manual tasks so the candidate must be physically fit.

Have a full-UK driving licence held for over 2 years.
