We are seeking a detail-oriented Finance Assistant to join our team. Are you looking for a rewarding role?

You will be joining the team during an exciting period of growth and change, where we look to integrate best practice processes and controls to gain efficiencies in line with the wider business development. With a proactive approach, you will play a pivotal role in a transitional phase.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Finance Manager in the day-to-day accounting functions of the Whiteline Group.
  • Administration of Supplier and Customer Ledgers
  • Assist in producing analysis and information for the Finance Manager to prepare
  • Prepare ad-hoc reports and monthly management accounts.
  • Work closely with other team members, departments and branches to ensure accurate and timely recording of accounting entries in all the Group’s accounting systems.
  • Accounts Payable – processing of supplier invoices, collating a list of suppliers to be paid for the bi-monthly payment run including loading of BACS file into the banking system for approval, reconciliation to supplier statements and providing regular aged payable reports.
  • Accounts Receivable – provide best practice credit control, and weekly reporting on aged receivables to the Finance Manager outlining customers that are outside their credit terms.
  • Bank reconciliation – responsible for bank postings, adding supplier payments, customer receipts and other bank transactions in the Group’s accounting systems. Preparing regular bank reconciliations.
  • Managing telephone and email queries from customers and suppliers to resolve their queries and make/take payments.
  • Processing employee expense claims in line with agreed processes.
  • General finance tasks – assisting with month-end tasks, assisting with additional postings to the Group accounting systems and ad-hoc reporting
  • Production of reconciliations and other information to assist with the preparation of the monthly management accounts.
  • Support with the creation, and maintenance of an organised and accurate electronic finance document management system.
  • Operation and reconciliation of petty cash and float systems.

Assisting Finance Manager with:

  • Preparation of year-end supporting schedules.
  • Production of ad hoc financial reports, analysis, information and analysis of spend
  • Supporting the annual budgeting process
  • Liaison with external parties including banks, auditors, customers, suppliers etc.
  • Identification, creation, recording and implementation of financial processes and procedures.
  • Other ad-hoc duties as required

General Requirements:

  • To maintain the confidentiality of all company information
  • To investigate, propose & implement improved processes and efficiency gains within the Finance department
  • To review expenditures at all times & question as necessary
  • Continual review and improvement approach to all duties and processes
  • Desire to learn and progress

Essential Experience

  • Proven background in a similar role
  • High level of Excel skills
  • Operating in a high-volume, fast-paced environment
  • Working as part of a team to achieve defined deadlines

Desirable Experience

  • Experience in EDI Integration
  • Working within a group of Companies
  • Accounting Qualification
  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment
