Full job description
Jigsaw Fitness designs and manufactures innovative fitness equipment from our Lancashire HQ. Our customers include some of the UK’s leading gym equipment brands and health club chains.
The company is experiencing an exciting period of fast growth and is looking for a Finance Assistant. The successful candidate will join and assist the Finance Controller and Finance Department with all aspects of the company's finance function.
This will include completing administrative routines relating to orders, invoices, income, payroll and the receipt and distribution of goods and services.
Responsibilities:
- Required to support and encourage the company values, ethos, objectives, policies and procedures.
- Ensure sales invoices are generated and sent out to the company customers as per agreed deadlines.
- Establish and main good relationships with all key stakeholders, customers, colleagues, and suppliers.
- Support the Financial Controller with all aspects of payroll administration within the relevant deadlines, including preparation.
- Support the Financial Controller maintaining both the sales and purchase ledger in adherence with the companies’ processes.
- Support the Financial Controller with the preparation of the month-end financial reporting.
- Support the Financial Controller to prepare individual and departmental budgets.
- Support the Financial Controller to monitor financial expenditure and ensure controls and policies are adhered to.
- Required to produce reports to help the Senior Leadership Team with key decision making.
- Provide efficient administration assistance to the Senior Leadership Team.
Essential Skills and Experience
- Studied to a minimum standard of GCSE [Grade A*–C] or equivalent, in English and mathematics.
- Experience of working in a busy office environment.
- Previous finance/accounting and administration experience [at least one year].
- Ability to build and form good relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders.
- Ability to work constructively as part of a team, understanding roles and responsibilities including own.
- Verbal and written communication skills appropriate to the need to communicate effectively with colleagues, and external stakeholders.
- Good standard of numeracy and literacy skills
- Proficient on all Microsoft packages including Microsoft Excel.
- Previous experience using financial accounts software
Desirable Skills and Experience
- Finance/Accounting related qualifications.
- Educated to degree level.
- Previous experience using Bright Pay Payroll
- Previous experience using Sage50
- Previous experience using Dext and Approval Max systems.
- Working knowledge of payroll/pension provision.
- Manufacturing finance experience

- Able to work flexibly to meet deadlines and respond to unplanned situations.
- Efficient and meticulous in organisation.
- Desire to enhance and develop skills and knowledge through CPD.
