Are you organized, numerate and looking to grow your finance career? Join us as an Accounts Assistant and be part of a supportive team that keeps operations running smoothly across the business.
What you’ll do
- Support the Finance Controller with day-to-day finance activities, including accurate processing of purchase and sales ledger transactions.
- Prepare and maintain financial records and month‑end schedules that feed into management accounts (P&L, balance sheet, KPIs).
- Assist with balance sheet reconciliations (bank, debtors, creditors, accruals and prepayments) and contribute to cashflow and sales reporting.
- Process supplier invoices, staff expenses and supplier payments, and help manage aged creditors and supplier queries.
- Prepare ad-hoc profit and loss statement for individual trade shows
- Help maintain financial master data, document internal controls and supply evidence for audits or reviews.
- Work to the accounting calendar and month‑end timetable while proactively suggesting process improvements.
Who we’re looking for
- Strong numeracy with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Good Excel and IT skills; comfortable working with high‑volume data.
- Clear written and verbal communication and strong interpersonal skills.
- Well organised, able to prioritise, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
- A flexible, reliable team player who is keen to learn and improve processes.
Qualifications & experience
- Experience in an accounts or finance role (purchase/sales ledger or general processing) is desirable.
- Experience working with accounting systems and large spreadsheets is an advantage. (Xero etc)
