Job Title: Finance Consultant
Reports To: Head of Finance
Hours: Fulltime 32 hours per week – Monday to Thursday 9-5pm and Friday 9-1pm
Location: Remote – occasional UK travel may be required
Job Purpose:
Assisting the Head of Finance with the efficient running of the financial management of the Institute, taking responsibility for day-to-day transaction processing activities.
Duties & Responsibilities to include:
- Sales ledger transaction processing, invoicing, credit control and income analysis.
- Purchase ledger transaction processing, including preparing payment runs for approval.
- Bank transaction processing in the accounting software and completing bank reconciliations in an accurate and timely manner.
- Responsible for liaising with internal teams in the timely submission/approvals of invoices and monthly expense claims;
- Assisting with the preparation of monthly and ad-hoc management accounts and reports;
- Providing support to the Head of Finance for regular and ad-hoc budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Processing month end journals including accruals, prepayments and selected balance sheet reconciliations; preparing corrective journals for income and expenses reallocation for approval and processing.
- Ownership of the month-end close checklist in liaison with the Head of Finance.
- Assisting with the preparation of year-end schedules, providing support to the auditors during the external audit in liaison with the Head of Finance.
- Contributing to the ongoing review and improvement of financial processes, procedures and documentation;
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
The job holder requires to have:
- Demonstrable experience in a similar finance role;
- Experience of using Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and working experience of copilot
- Experience of Business Central finance system required
- Experience of Microsoft Dynamics would be advantageous;
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential.
