About Target
Target is an award-winning performance marketing and eCommerce growth agency headquartered in Penzance, Cornwall. We help the UK’s hungriest challenger brands (including MuscleFood, Years.com and Elbow Grease) to punch above their weight by unlocking more predictable and profitable growth with Paid Media, SEO & Creative.
Over the past 12 months, our small team of 9 has driven record growth, moved into a state of the art office complete with a small gym and honed its processes and proposition. With a strong pipeline, the business is in a secure position to begin scaling up and fulfil its mission of building the next generation of category leading brands.
Overview
As a Finance & Contracts Manager, you will join Target with demonstrable experience in financial planning, analysis and reporting; initially a part-time/freelance role, the successful candidate will be tasked with weekly bookkeeping (such as reconciling against Xero & invoicing) through to making improvements to our controls and financial processes.
We would welcome a conversation with anyone whose experience extends above this into the realms of growth planning, maximising enterprise value and financial forecasting/cashflow planning.
The business aims to make this a full-time role by the end of 2025 in line, in-line growth of the business.
Key Duties
- Day-to-day book keeping, including reconciling transactions in Xero
- Raising invoices and credit notes
- Credit control and chasing aged debtors via email and telephone
- Working with the accountancy firm on VAT returns, payroll and ensuring compliance with HMRC
- Financial analysis and reporting, such as monthly management accounts for board meetings
- Quarterly budgeting, financial forecasting and growth planning
- Ownership of drafting contracts between the business and its clients and employees
What we need from you
- Ability to carry out the above duties with diligence and integrity
- 3+ years experience in bookkeeping, accounting or finance
- Proactive suggestions on how the business can become more efficient and profitability
- Good analytical skills with proficiency in Excel/Sheets
- Commercial awareness and financial literacy
- Experience with managing stakeholder relationships through transparency, managing up and building rapport
- Willingness to travel to our office in Penzance for 1 day per month

Job Types: Part-time, Freelance
Pay: From £15.00 per hour
Expected hours: No less than 8 per week
