Role Summary

We’re looking for an experienced Fire and Security Engineer in Devon to join our growing team, helping us to make a positive difference to the communities we work in. You’ll carry out servicing, maintenance and small works on fire alarms, CCTV, intruder alarms and access control systems in the Devon area, with a strong focus on building trusted relationships and delivering excellent customer service.

This is a mobile role covering much of Devon with a particular focus around Torquay, Paignton, and Brixton, supported by structured scheduling, reliable backup and a company that values professionalism and getting the job done right. You’ll be part of a respected, well organised team, with the opportunity to grow and develop your career.

Who We’re Looking For

You’ll need:

  • Experience working with fire alarms, intruder alarms, CCTV and access control
  • A proactive, reliable approach with strong fault finding skills
  • Good documentation and communication skills
  • A valid UK driving licence
  • The legal right to work in the UK
  • Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain)

Desirable:

  • Industry recognised fire and security qualifications
  • 18th Edition or similar electrical qualification
  • Understanding of IP, networking and IoT devices

Key Responsibilities

  • Service, maintain and carry out small works on fire and security systems
  • Diagnose and rectify faults
  • Respond to call outs promptly and efficiently
  • Provide technical support and complete accurate site documentation
  • Ensure compliance with regulations and health and safety
  • Represent Severnside as our frontline contact, delivering excellent customer service
  • Work collaboratively with Service Team Coordinators
  • Participate in the out of hours call out rota
