Overview

We are a leading neurodivergent-affirming, multicultural therapy practice and specialist training provider.

We are seeking a passionate and creative Freelance Facilitator to deliver both online and in-person training to community groups, mental health organizations, and in education settings.

With very limited advertising, owing to the success of our engaging training programmes and workshops, we are experiencing huge growth in training delivery. We are now seeking a dedicated facilitator to continue our work and enhance our training offer. The right person will be willing to help us develop this brand-new role alongside our managing director.

This role is temporary for the first 6-9 months with a view to creating a permanent part-time position for the right candidate. May suit parent-carers, neurodivergent individuals, and people of colour looking for flexible, part-time employment in a supportive and inclusive environment.

Candidates must be available for training on the following dates:

  • Online Orientation (unpaid): Wednesday 30th October between 2pm and 4pm
  • Online training delivery: 4th November to 8th November inclusive, 1.30pm to 3.30pm
  • In Person training delivery on either: November: 14th, 20th, 27th or December: 4th

Online interviews will take place on Wednesday 23rd October 2024 between 10am and 2pm.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, inclusive, accessible training sessions solo and in co-facilitation.
  • Finesse and finalize existing training materials and contribute to the research and development of new resources focused on mental health, wellness, social justice issues, and anti-oppressive practices.
  • Assist in project management for new training developments.
  • Stay up-to-date with best practices and new research in neurodiversity, social justice, LGBTQIA+ issues, race, ethnicity, culture, and mental health.
  • Collaborate effectively with team members and participants.

Person Specification

Essential Criteria

  • Must have lived experience as a neurodivergent person. Parent-carers of neurodivergent children are equally welcome to apply.
  • Must demonstrate knowledge in mental health, wellbeing or community work
  • Keen interest in social justice and mental health topics.

Essential Skills:

  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail.
  • A collaborative mindset with a commitment to teamwork.
  • Reflective and empathetic approach to facilitation.

Essential Experience:

  • Some experience in delivering training, workshops, or classes is preferred.

Availability:

  • Must be available to facilitate Monday to Friday between 10 am and 5 pm. At the moment hours per week vary.
  • Candidates must be able to manage their own availability and diary.

Desirable Criteria

  • Experience or skills in content creation, video production, graphic art or online learning design is a bonus.
  • Interest in project management.
  • Willingness to engage in ongoing professional development, including training in facilitation and trauma-informed approaches.
  • Full UK Driving License and own vehicle
  • Valid DBS Certificate
  • Public Liability Insurance
