General Factory Assistant

Role Overview

We are looking for a reliable, multi-talented individual to join our team. This dual-purpose role is perfect for someone who takes pride in a spotless environment but also enjoys the hands-on work of minor repairs and general upkeep. You will be the "go-to" person for ensuring our facilities are clean, safe, and fully functional.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning Duties:

• Perform deep cleaning tasks (vacuuming, mopping, dusting, and disinfecting).
• Manage waste removal and recycling programs.
• Ensure restrooms and common areas are impeccably maintained and stocked.
• Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and request restocks as needed.
• Clean machines from metal swarf, ensuring tidy working areas.

Maintenance & General Duties:

• Filling coolant & oil tanks.
• Measuring & cutting material.
• Break up pallets/containers received from shipments.
• Clear gutters & clean windows.
• External upkeep (minor gardening, or salt spreading on icy days).
• Wrapping pallets – ready for export.
• Receiving & handling deliveries.
• Material handling and stamping.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Experience: Proven experience in commercial or residential cleaning and general maintenance.
• Skills: Proficiency with hand tools and basic power tools.
• Physical Ability: Must be able to lift up to [e.g., 50lbs], climb ladders, and remain on your feet for extended periods.
• Reliability: A strong track record of punctuality and a "can-do" attitude.
• Communication: Ability to follow verbal and written instructions clearly.
• Bonus: A valid driver’s license or specific certifications such as forklift is a plus.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: £13.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week
