Full job description

This role is varied and requires flexibility to undertake additional duties as required, the role and responsibilities will include;

  • Collecting and delivering materials and plant to sites;
  • Ensure the vehicle and its load are safe and secure;
  • Ensure driving regulations are followed;
  • Complete necessary documentation;
  • Carry out vehicle checks prior to shift starting, including routine maintenance (e.g. oil, water checks) and cleaning;
  • Operate plant, machinery and tools only if you are trained to do so in a safe and efficient manner;
  • Liasing with the operations team;
  • Take responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect members of the public;
  • Report near misses;
  • Follow company policies and procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when relevant;
  • Promote a positive image of the company.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Demonstrate previous experience in a HGV and Grab Driver role;
  • HGV Class 2/CAT C licence;
  • Driver CPC;
  • Digital Tachograph;
  • NPORS Lorry Loader Clamshell, Plant Mover, Plant Loader & Securer;
  • Abrasive Wheels;
  • Asbestos Awareness;
  • Emergency First Aid;
  • Face Fit Test;
  • Manual Handling;
  • Vehicle Marshal;
  • A methodical approach to processes;
  • Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of their role within the business and demonstrate that they will undertake it accurately and diligently;
  • An enthusiastic and proactive attitude, must be reliable and committed to consistently meeting deadlines;
  • Good communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour

Expected hours: 50 per week
