Full job description
This role is varied and requires flexibility to undertake additional duties as required, the role and responsibilities will include;
- Collecting and delivering materials and plant to sites;
- Ensure the vehicle and its load are safe and secure;
- Ensure driving regulations are followed;
- Complete necessary documentation;
- Carry out vehicle checks prior to shift starting, including routine maintenance (e.g. oil, water checks) and cleaning;
- Operate plant, machinery and tools only if you are trained to do so in a safe and efficient manner;
- Liasing with the operations team;
- Take responsibility for the safety of yourself and others within your team to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation and safe operation to protect members of the public;
- Report near misses;
- Follow company policies and procedures and wear appropriate personal protective equipment when relevant;
- Promote a positive image of the company.
Essential Skills & Qualifications
- Demonstrate previous experience in a HGV and Grab Driver role;
- HGV Class 2/CAT C licence;
- Driver CPC;
- Digital Tachograph;
- NPORS Lorry Loader Clamshell, Plant Mover, Plant Loader & Securer;
- Abrasive Wheels;
- Asbestos Awareness;
- Emergency First Aid;
- Face Fit Test;
- Manual Handling;
- Vehicle Marshal;
- A methodical approach to processes;
- Demonstrate an understanding of the importance of their role within the business and demonstrate that they will undertake it accurately and diligently;
- An enthusiastic and proactive attitude, must be reliable and committed to consistently meeting deadlines;
- Good communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain good working relationships.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: £14.00-£15.00 per hour
Expected hours: 50 per week
