The Royal Navy, Army and Airforce Institutes (NAAFI) Graduate Scheme – 2024

Location: Whiteley, Fareham

Salary: £25,000/annum

Hours: 39 hours/week

We are excited to announce that due to the success of our Graduate Scheme we are looking for three more ambitious, dynamic graduates to join us in September 2024.

The Royal NAAFI is a Not-For-Profit organisation who gives back to the British Armed Forces. We are the Ministry of Defence’s in house provider of catering, retail, leisure and soft facilities management services.

Your first and second year in our Graduate Scheme:

The first and second year will comprise of a full rotation across all departments. This will allow you to understand the inter-dependencies between all areas of a business and gain a full understanding of The Royal NAAFI. The rotation includes:

· Commercial

· Business Development

· Marketing & PR

· Events and Warehouse

· Operations

· Finance

· HR

· Risk and Audit

At the end of year one or two, there will also be an opportunity for you to participate in a placement at one of our operational locations. You will then make recommendations to the executives on your observations across all areas. This will include recommendations for changes to policies and processes or practical improvements in how we operate and interact across the departments/streams.

At the end of year two you will complete a preference exercise to choose your top three choices for your focus in year three. The exposure to each area in year one and two will help to inform you on the areas you may wish to specialise in.

Your third year in our Graduate Scheme:

In your third year of our graduate scheme you will be offered a permanent role within one of the departments you indicated in preference exercise with The Royal NAAFI building on your experience, and commencing a successful career.

Requirements for our Graduate Scheme:

· 2:2 university degree in any discipline

· A great team player

· Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

· Ability to work well under pressure

· Excellent attention to detail skills

· Ability to adapt to new roles and changing environments

Given our role in the wider defence community, the successful applicants for the scheme may be required to pass a stringent security clearance process to enable them to access military site and locations. Applicants should bear that in mind prior to applying.

Stage Two - If you are successful at Stage One you will be asked to attend a 30 minute introductory interview on Teams.

Stage Three – if you are successful at Stage Two you will be invited to attend a face-to-face Assessment Centre at our offices in Whiteley

Stage Four - If you are successful at Stage Three you will be offered a place on our Graduate Scheme and begin your career with The Royal Navy, Army and Airforce Institutes.
