Full job description
Chapel-en-le-Frith Golf Club, founded in 1905, is a private members club in the High Peak. It is a beautiful parkland 18-hole course with practice facilities.
We are looking for a full-time Assistant Greenkeeper to join our team. Reporting to the Course Manager, day-to-day duties include assisting with the daily setup of the course for general play and competitions, as well as contributing to the development and improvement of the course.
The role:
To assist in the day-to-day maintenance and improvement of the golf course, ensuring high standards of turf care, presentation and playability.
- Average of 40 hours per week over the summer/winter season
- Flexibility, with occasional overtime paid at 1.5 times the hourly rate
- Weekend work – 1 weekend in 3 during the summer season, 1 weekend in 4 during the winter season
The candidate should possess the following:
- Good timekeeping and reliability
- Ability to work unsupervised
- Full driving license
- Some knowledge of the game of golf
- Keen eye for detail
Qualifications:
- NVQ Level 2 qualified (or 2 years’ experience working on a golf course)
- PA1, 2, 6 (desirable)
- CS30 and 31 (desirable)
- Knowledge of basic machinery mechanics, service and maintenance (desirable)
