Full job description
An exciting opportunity has arisen to join our Residential Conveyancing team as Department Head. We are looking for an individual who displays people management skills accompanied by experience in residential conveyancing. Main duties
Management
- Dealing with day-to-day people management duties including, holidays rotas, flexible working requests
- Making decisions on departmental strategies
- holding regular departmental meetings
- Ensuring communication is upheld within the team and the firm across all offices
- Completing appraisals of direct reports
- Dealing with disciplinaries and grievances where necessary
- People planning
- Attendance across offices for personal team supervision and support
Compliance
- Conducting and reporting on file reviews
- Ensuring money laundering guidance is adhered to and understood by all team members
- Ensuring CQS compliance
- Liaising with Lender Panels
Conveyancing
- Running a personal case load
- Knowledge and understanding of complicated property transactions
- Supporting department with conveyancing queries
- Achieving personal and departmental targets
Other
- Responsible for the health, safety and wellbeing of staff and colleagues
- Responsible for treating all employees equally and fairly
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulation
- Proven ability to negotiate effectively on behalf of clients
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage a caseload
- Committed to provide efficient and accurate work
- To ensure the confidentiality and security of all practice and client documentation and/or information.
