Full job description
HeatLoad provides heat load testing services to the data centre construction industry, primarily used for testing cooling and power systems in data centres, IT Equipment Rooms and communications rooms.
We rent equipment such as Power Distribution Boards, Power Cables, Electric Fan Heaters and Immersion Heaters
The Heat Load Technician is a key member of our operations team, responsible for preparing equipment for delivery to our customers, and on-site installation at customer sites. Heat Load Operatives also assist the workshop team with manufacturing, maintenance and repair tasks of the rental equipment. The ideal candidate should have some understanding of electrical systems, strong attention to detail, a commitment to safety and ensuring quality.
The role is warehouse and site based. Candidate must be willing to attend customer sites (across UK and Europe) to assist with installation or carry out onsite repairs (sometimes for several days at a time, including weekends and nights).
Key Responsibilities:
1. Equipment Maintenance:
- Inspect, clean, and maintain rental equipment prior to delivery to customer site.
- Ensure equipment is properly stored and ready for use.
- PAT testing equipment after manufacturing or repair and prior to despatch to customer
- Maintain maintenance, cleaning and test records.
2. Material Handling:
- Pack / unpack equipment in stillages and pallets
- Assist in the loading and unloading of materials and equipment needed for projects into HGVs.
3. Compliance:
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, protocols, and regulations.
- Report any safety hazards or incidents to the Operations Supervisor immediately.
- Adhere to all electrical installation and safety guidelines, protocols and regulations.
7. Qualifications:
- Previous experience in a workshop or construction environment is preferred.
- Strong organizational skills with a keen attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
- Commitment to safety and willingness to follow safety protocols.
- Ability to work independently and take initiative when necessary.
- UK Driving licence (with own transport).
- Knowledge Microsoft Outlook, Work, Excel and Web Browser.
Physical Requirements:
This position requires the ability to:
- Lift and carry heavy equipment and materials (up to 25kg).
- Stand, bend, stoop, and work in various positions for extended periods.
- Work in a warehouse, workshop and construction site environment with exposure to various weather conditions.
Working Hours and Renumeration Package:
37.5 hours per week (with possibility of overtime)
Core Hours 07:30 to 15:30 (with 2 x 15-minute tea breaks and 30-minute paid lunch break)
20-days holiday, plus public holidays paid
Annual Salary: Depending on experience, to be discussed
Pay uplift while working on customer sites and working away allowance.
