HGV Driver class 1 (Tramper)

Job Overview
We are direct employer seeking a professional and reliable Truck Driver to join our logistics team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods, primarily specialising in curtain side, box trailer deliveries and Container Haulage.

Candidate will be responsible for transporting goods safely and efficiently across various routes, ensuring timely deliveries. The position involves operating large vehicles, maintaining safety standards, and providing exceptional service to our clients.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate articulated lorries over short and long distances
• Safely operate curtain side lorries to deliver goods to various destinations
• Plan routes effectively to ensure timely deliveries while adhering to legal driving hours and safety regulations
• Load and unload cargo with proper handling techniques, ensuring securement of goods during transit
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to identify any maintenance or safety issues
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel consumption, and vehicle maintenance reports
• Communicate effectively with dispatchers and clients regarding delivery schedules or any unforeseen delays
• Follow all traffic laws and company policies to uphold safety standards at all times
• Assist with loading or unloading when necessary, ensuring proper handling of all items

Requirements

• Valid UK driving licence with a clean driving record
• Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably with Articulated with Curtain side, box trailer and container haulage
• Strong knowledge of driving regulations and safety standards within the UK
• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to plan routes efficiently
• Physical fitness to load, unload, and secure cargo as required
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
• Good communication skills and professional attitude

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Temporary, Temp to perm

Pay: £13.00-£18.00 per hour

Expected hours: 08 – 13 per week
