Hub Manager (RM - Children's Service)

Location: Cheadle Hulme

Salary range: £45,493 - £50,548 per annum + benefits

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, part of on-call rota

Seashell Trust have a new opportunity for a Hub Manager to join our Children's Residential Service.
Seashell is a national charitable trust with a heritage that stretches over almost 200 years. We support children and young adults with severe, profound and complex learning disabilities, sensory impairment and additional communication, physical and health related needs from across the UK.

We provide care and education, for children aged 3-18 years old and young adults aged 19-25 years of age. The children and young adults who learn with us also live with us. In April 2020 the Trust was granted planning consent to develop our new school and campus as part of our ‘Seashell Transformation plan’ now well advanced, which will complement the bespoke residential and purpose-built care homes so this is an excellent time to join us as our site and team continues to develop and our aspiration and ambition grows.

Role Summary

The Registered Manager will hold the registration for Children’s Homes with Ofsted. Working with the statutory legislation, quality standards and Children’s Home regulations (2015) they will assure the performance and delivery of the Hub in providing quality and person-centred care. They will be working collaboratively within our One Seashell culture, with an established multidisciplinary team including: education, health, administrative, care-giving and support team professionals.

The Role

  • Taking responsibility for a hub (up to 3 homes), managing and supervising the Assistant Manager to ensure the smooth running of operations over 24 hours
  • Establish and enforce the standards expected of the service
  • Triangulated care planning approaches
  • Clear line of sight between statutory regulation and organisational policy
  • Highest standards of professional practice are maintained and reviewed frequently
  • Participating in operational projects to champion continuous service improvement

Requirements

  • Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare , or willingness to gain qualification , or equivalent qualification
  • Commitment to complete BILD approved Behaviour Management training and refresher courses provided by Seashell
  • Appropriate safeguarding qualifications in child and adult protection or commitment to complete training in this area
  • Significant knowledge (5-7 yrs min) and experience of working within one of more of the following environments: learning disabilities, complex needs, autism, health and mental health as a Registered Manager. Operational Manager or Head of Service under the Children’s Home Regulations and Ofsted Quality Standards
  • Experience of management and leadership in a care and or residential education setting, operating under Ofsted quality standards
  • Demonstrable experience of effective leadership and line management of staff teams
  • Experience of Positive Behaviour Management support systems and processes
  • Budget management experience
  • Experience of rota management
  • Experience of supervision and appraisal processes/reflective practice
  • Experience in shaping and undertaking quality audits
