We Are looking for an enthusiastic, motivated people person who has a real love of technology mixed with a passion for fault finding to provide great customer service within primary schools.
You will be helping improve the standard of the ICT infrastructure and hardware across local primary schools, to enable them to deliver effective teaching and learning through ICT solutions.
The successful candidate will predominantly cover schools across the Ashford Kent area as well as 10 to 15 miles outside of the Ashford area.
You will be a member of our team that looks after around 27 schools with network maintenance and general day to day technical help. You will also become part of each school as a member of their team, so an approachable and friendly disposition is also a must. Interviews will take place asap but we may close applications early for a suitable candidate.
Wages start at £25000 and go up to £35000 depending on experience. You will also be required to take holidays during school holiday time unless agreed otherwise.
The responsibilities of the role include:
- Working through our support log of jobs and emails.
- Supporting Staff with ICT issues and helping with any queries relating to ICT.
- Remote support from home or office at times.
- Fault finding, repairing and replacing any hardware and network issues.
- Rebuilding and installation hardware on to the school networks.
- Creating network packages and pushing out across the networks.
- Monitoring Cloud base systems such as office 365 and Google work space and other educational specific platforms.
- Maintaining managed wifi setup and diagnosing any performance degradation or failures.
- Looking after and keeping up to date all asset registers and paper work for the schools.
- Helping out with bigger projects like installation's of large screens, cabling and any IT infrastructure requirements.
- Provide general support to staff for use of applications (Excel, Word, Powerpoint etc) and guidance with using IT devices covering Windows Operating systems, Chrome OS, IOS and Android OS. Some experience of teaching software would be useful but not a requirement. Types of software are Active Inspire, Smart Notebook.
- Managing school sets of tablets (iPads, Android, Chromebooks) including building devices and deploying software. Using MDM software and also Apple configurator.
- knowledge of RM CC4, EIS NET, BCX Networks and Vanilla networks, Server AD, GPO etc
- Supporting signing in systems like NET2, Inventry and Entry-sign. Also creating and printing ID cards.
- Supporting 3rd party contractors with installation of new systems into the school.
- Liaising with 3rd party support companies and to ensure faults are progressed through to resolution.
This role relies on the successful candidate being able to build relationships with both Staff and children, you will be seen as a trusted member of every school by both the staff and children, you need to be seen as supportive to the staff and a role model to the children. IT support can be seen as an isolated occupation but within the school environment you will need to be heavily involved in supporting the staff and children. The successful candidate must be able to self teach, IT is a rapidly evolving environment and it is not possible to have formal training on all systems.
Due to the location of schools, you must be able to drive , have your own vehicle including business insurance and live with in 12 miles of Ashford to be considered for this role. Fuel would be paid at the current rate.
A full DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be carried out and updated every 4 - 5 years, this is a legal requirement for all staff members.
