Full job description

About Us

Ministry of Sound opened in 1991 in a disused bus garage in a forgotten corner of South London. It was the first nightclub in the UK to have a 24-hour licence, didn’t serve alcohol and featured an earth-shaking sound system in a specially constructed dance box.

We went on to become the world’s largest independent record company (now owned by Sony) and stage giant dance events, including one for 50,000 people at the Millennium Dome. We were pioneers in electronic music and have a history of taking risks, innovation, and colourful and creative marketing.

As a business we don’t take ourselves too seriously, like to laugh and have fun, but we have high standards, a relentless attention to detail and the continuous improvement of our product, and we work hard as a team.

We hate cliché, doing things the way others do and continuously seek to differentiate our brands and products almost as a point of pride.

Thirty years later we opened The Ministry, a workspace run as a member’s club, in a 50,000 sq. ft Victorian warehouse in SE1. There’s excellent F&B, a state-of-the-art gym and fitness studio with daily classes, together with a cultural and business events programme. The design is relaxed but functional with a bar, opening windows, an outside courtyard and plenty of space to sit, relax, work and socialise – everything you wouldn’t expect to find in a standard office.

This role sits across all of our businesses.

The Role

We’re looking for a Junior Graphic Designer to join our dedicated, fun and hardworking creatives.

Reporting to the Club Marketing Manager you will be working closely with our marketing team and involved with our visual communication campaigns from inception to execution, including our world famous nightclub and The Ministry in Borough road.

You will have creative flair and exceptional levels of detail, up-to-date knowledge of industry trends and influences, and a professional approach to time management and outputs.

You will understand the commercial value of graphic design, a rapid and agile marketing strategy and ensure all design material is created within these guidelines. You are happy creating designs on someone else’s concept, as well as conceptualising own ideas depending on projects needs.

We’re truly entrepreneurial so you’ll have the opportunity to take your ideas from start to finish, voice your opinion and work on a wide range of projects.

You will adhere to our brand guidelines, maintaining our brand identity, understanding our tone of voice to deliver meaningful messaging.

You will also be used to managing your own briefs with the ability to interpret them, liaising with other team members on delivery time and comfortable troubleshooting and brainstorming creative ideas to present to the team.

You will have a solid knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite with a focus on Photoshop, Illustrator and also After Effects.

Also, a basic knowledge of InDesign (setting up for print) and Figma a plus.

You should have experience in agency / studio / brand side role (not freelance) and worked in a fast paced, agile environment before.

All other duties as assigned.
