StructureCare www.structurecare.com are part of the Tremco CPG family which includes other well-known brands including Tremco, Flowcrete, Illbruck, Nullifire, Vandex and Dryvit.
StructureCare are CPG’s Specialist in-house Contractor who are focussed on the Repair, Maintenance and Protection of Buildings and Structures throughout the UK and are seeking to appoint an Assistant QS to help manage and maintain the financial position of the departments projects and to undertake key functions to support the day to day running of the contracts department.
Duties and Responsibilities – will include:
- Assist in the effective handover from the estimating team to the contract’s team to ensure commercial clarity (i.e. compile relevant contractual documentation).
- Assist in the preparation of contractual documents/claims (e.g. substantiation).
- Assist in the preparation of interim applications and final accounts.
- Process Clients Purchase Orders
- Monitoring sub-contractor accounts and issuing monthly payment certificates.
- Knowledge NEC contract procedures.
- Issue CE’s and EWN’s and follow up.
- Assist & direct in general commercial administration duties in conjunction with the administration team.
- Close Liaison with Project Managers, Other departments within the Company, Sub-contractors, Clients
- Undertake any other reasonable duties as required by either the Senior Contracts Manager, Senior QS or Operation Director.
- Identify any areas of the Project that could have been improved and by what means to promote use of best practices across the business.
- Be aware of the financial objectives of all Projects in their control to ensure they are able to influence the final results of completion to agreed timescales, expecting quality and maximum profitability.
- Encourage positive behavioural change in attitudes to issues that relate to business expenditure.
- Develop and maintain good internal and external customer relationships.
- Produce financial dashboards for the project’s teams and manage the commercial elements to ensure full profit realisation
Personal Characteristics – to succeed will include:
- Ideally a commercial qualification and experience in construction sector dealing with commercial documents.
- IT literate (e.g. able to produce detailed documents and reports).
- Strong team player with demonstrated ability to work effectively with cross functional teams.
- Commercial and contractual awareness.
- Good communication skills, well-spoken and personable, able to get on with diverse personalities.
- Service orientated; responsive to the needs of internal customers & external Clients/suppliers.
- Demonstrated ability to assist in implementing change.
