About Us:
The Canteen at The Old Hospital is a vibrant community café, part of the Old Hospital Hub. We take pride in serving fresh, delicious meals and supporting local initiatives that bring people together. We are looking for a hardworking and reliable Kitchen Porter to join our team and help keep our kitchen running smoothly.
Role Overview:
As a Kitchen Porter, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and efficiency of the kitchen, supporting the chefs, and ensuring a smooth service. This is a crucial role in our busy café, perfect for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in keeping things organised.
Shifts are 9am-4pm. We are looking for someone who is available on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday each week.
Key Responsibilities:
- Washing dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment to a high standard.
- Keeping the kitchen clean and hygienic, including surfaces, floors, and storage areas.
- Assisting with unloading and storing deliveries.
- Helping with basic food preparation when needed.
- Following health and safety regulations at all times.
Requirements:
- No previous experience required – just a strong work ethic and willingness to learn.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliability and a good attitude towards teamwork.
- A keen eye for cleanliness and hygiene.
- Flexibility to work (there will be extra hours available during busy periods).
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: £10.00-£12.21 per hour
Expected hours: 14 – 21 per week
