What you'll be doing;
As Marketing Lead, you will deliver the marketing plan for the Ashtead Technology business in Sandy, on time and on budget for FY2025. This will include advertising, tradeshows and exhibitions, public relations, direct mail, e-mail marketing, social media, search engine optimisation (SEO), PPC, literature (printed and electronic) and promotional items, using a combination of internal and external resources.
This is a 13-month fixed term contract.
You will also be involved in;
Website
- Implementing and managing all Pay-Per-Click (PPC) activity
- Maintaining and developing external web directories to enhance organic SEO
- Monthly SERP checks
- Ensuring all web content is up to date (products and services)
- Creating landing pages as required in line with new product launches and specific campaigns
E-mail Marketing
- Ensuring consistent and results-driven email marketing programmes
- Database management to include update unsubscribes and management of soft and hard bouncing e-mail addresses.
Social Media
- Ensuring that social media presence is consistent with company objectives and maximises lead generation
- Creating and launching targeted LinkedIn campaigns as per overall marketing plan.
Marketing Plan
- Responsibility for delivering the marketing plan using all available resources
- Allocating and managing the marketing budget
Exhibitions / Events
- Primary organiser of all external exhibitions and events, including bookings and schedules
- Managing lead generation from initial greeting to CRM entry
Literature
- Producing all sales and promotional literature using appropriate software/ external design companies and printing houses
- Managing dissemination of literature, including archiving historical designs and documents
Public Relations
- Managing and liaising of PR activity, ensuring that all time scales and deadlines are met
- Identifying suitable stories from the sales and operational departments
- Managing and updating all historical press releases and distribute between personnel as appropriate
Direct Mail
- Organising and distributing direct mailers in accordance with the marketing plan and ad hoc requirement directed by the sales team
- Investigating and presenting suitable lists for mail marketing
Market / Products
- Liaising with manufacturers to identify current marketing schemes for mutual benefit
- Undertaking market surveys or competitor analysis as appropriate
Printed Advertising
- Producing the advertising schedule that coincides with the overall marketing plan
- Producing artwork and design where required
Lead Generation/ Database Management
- Tracking of all leads generated and ensuring these have been dealt with as per company procedure
- Managing lead content ensuring that all details entered to database are up to a strict standard
- Liaising with other departments to ensure that inputted data is meaningful
Business Development
- Investigating database to create relevant lists for mail / email shots and telemarketing campaigns
- Creating marketing collateral to support business development campaigns as required
General
- Monthly and ad-hoc reporting as required, including updates on marketing plan, budget YTD, committed expenditure and current balance
- Planning monthly marketing activity in liaison with Sales Managers and Regional General Manager.
What experience you'll bring;
- Experience in a marketing role ideally having worked with Campaign Master (or similar), InDesign (or similar), Google Analytics, Microsoft Dynamics and a content management system.
- Willingness to be managed according to a strict set of KPIs
- Track record of success with e-mail marketing, exhibitions and social media in a B2B environment.
- Prior knowledge or aptitude / willingness to learn about scientific and technical equipment
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to communicate with a diverse client group
- Confident, self-driven individual with a clear focus on marketing success and achievement of objectives
