Full job description

As a Fire and Security Minor Works Engineer, you will play a key role within ABCA’s dedicated field team. You will be responsible for delivering minor works projects on a range of fire and security systems, ensuring all work is carried out to the highest industry standards.

Duties and responsibilities

To support the Install Managers & Sales team with installation work, including;

  • Deliver minor works assigned by the Install Mangers in line with British Standards
  • Diagnose and repair faults across Fire Alarms, CCTV, Access Control, Warden Call and Intruder systems
  • Provide expert advice and technical support to clients on-site  Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory standards at all times  Keep detailed records of work completed and system statuses
  • Foster strong relationships with customers by providing outstanding service
  • Surveying sites for Door access/Intercom/CCTV/Fire/Warden Call/Intruder
  • Working with In-house and subcontract labour teams
  • QA Visits and completion walk off
  • System Design  Meeting Client teams for Pre Start/Walk offs
  • Snagging Installation work
  • System remedial works as required
  • Fault finding Qualifications and Experience
  • Intercom knowledge (preferred Entrotec IP experience)
  • Access Control knowledge (preferred KMS/Paxton/Intratone)
  • Fire Alarm training (e.g. FAI level 1-5)
  • Hyfire & Advanced Fire training
  • AICO House Coding
  • Driving License

Other Information

This is a permanent role we are offering based in the Yorkshire/Midlands area. The rate of pay we are offering is up to £13.50-£19.20 per hour depending on experience, based on a 40-hour working week. You will be provided with a company van and a company mobile phone.
