As a Mobile Workshop Mechanic, you will be responsible for maintaining all horticultural machinery and equipment and to carry out any repairs to ensure the equipment is in a serviceable condition, fit for purpose and safe to use by our Grounds Maintenance teams.
Responsibilities:
- Undertake servicing and checks on all machinery and in line with manufacture guidelines and servicing schedules.
- Undertake regular checking and reporting of the condition of power tools to ensure all guards and safety devices are in place and in good working order.
- Carry out minor repairs to vehicles as required and organise for major repairs to be carried out by our supply partners.
- Maintain records of all service and repairs carried out.
- Liaising with line managers on cost estimates for large and major repairs.
- Comply with all company and depot procedures and regulations.
- Ensure that you observe and follow all Health & Safety procedures in a safe manner.
Skills and experiences:
- Experience of automotive and/or machinery mechanics.
- Practical use of ride-on mowers, hedge trimmers, strimmers, tractors and pto equipment.
- Ability to organise and plan works, working to tight deadlines and propensity for problem-solving.
- A demonstrable ability to establish and sustain good working relationships within a team environment and the ability and initiative to work alone.
- Aptitude to communicate effectively with colleagues and suppliers and able to use basic functions on a computer.
- Hold a valid driving licence, preferably with practical ability to use a trailer.
- Agricultural, motor mechanic or powered hand tool degree desirable but not essential
