About Seashell Trust

Originally founded in 1823, Seashell Trust is a nationally recognised and registered charity based in Cheadle Hulme, Stockport. The trust consists of the Royal School Manchester (RSM), Royal College Manchester (RCM), residential homes, outreach health and family services. Based on one site, we provide care and education for children and young people (up to 25 years old) with severe, profound, and complex learning difficulties and disabilities, sensory impairment, communication disorders and autism.

We are excited to be recruiting a Nursing Assistant to be an integral part of our Nursing team providing prescribed care to children and young adults with complex health needs. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, and within our TDDI regulated activities, our Nursing Assistants play a key role in maintaining our CQC (Outstanding) registered health service status. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a truly dedicated team who are making a difference to the lives of the children and young people in our care every day.

Requirements:

• Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care and/or Healthcare Support
• Medication administration training and assessed competency
• A - C grade GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths
• Train the trainer/A1 assessor with experience delivering/supporting training to colleagues around healthcare
• First aid training
• Proficiency in IT – preferably a Level 2 IT qualification
• Experience of working with children and young people with learning disabilities and complex communication needs who can also have complex health and medical needs – preferably in an education-based environment or working with families and carers
• Experience of working in a healthcare setting
