Full job description
About Us:
Show Works Ltd is production company specialising in theatre, immersive and live events across the UK and globally.
We supply audio, video and lighting both to the dry hire industry, as well as for our own internal projects.
As we grow, our project managers are increasingly pulled away from delivering shows by day-to-day operational admin. We’re now looking to bridge this gap with someone organised, calm under pressure and technically minded to become part of the operational backbone of the company.
The Role:
This is an operations role sitting between our customers, project management and the warehouse
Your job is to help keep company operations running smoothly, making sure hires are booked correctly, logistics are thoroughly planned, equipment is available and paperwork is kept up to date.
You won’t be expected to operate shows or push flight cases (though understanding both helps!).
Key Responsibilities:
Administration
- Prepare and manage quotes for small dry hire and production jobs
- Convert enquiries into bookings
- Process sales orders
- Handle the operations of last-minute & urgent hire requests
Operations & Logistics
- Plan deliveries and collections
- Coordinate vehicle and transport bookings
- Schedule prep and turnaround time
- Support Project Managers with internal projects
Resource Management
- Manage staff & freelance allocation calendars
- Maintain internal schedules
- Identify clashes
Stock & Systems
- Maintain hire database accuracy
- Track equipment availability, conflicts & shortages
- Help improve workflow systems and procedures
Finance & Paperwork
- Raise invoices
- Fixed asset management
- Ensure correct paperwork is issued
- Keep records accurate and up to date
What We’re Looking For:
Essential
- Highly organised and methodical
- Good communication skills (phone & email)
- Able to prioritise multiple tasks under pressure
- Comfortable making decisions
- Strong IT literacy
Desirable (but not required)
- Hire company or venue background
- Understanding of production equipment
- Logistics or scheduling experience
- Experience with rental software systems
Further Details:
40 hours p/w
28 days holiday
TOIL/Overtime (can be flexible)
