Jigsaw Fitness designs and manufactures innovative fitness equipment from our Lancashire HQ. Our customers include some of the UK’s leading gym equipment brands and health club chains.

We are currently recruiting an Operations Manager to play a critical leadership role in the business. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing multiple operational functions and ensuring departments works cohesively to deliver exceptional results.

This role requires a detailed approach to operations management, strong leadership skills, and the ability to make decisions that directly impact the company’s growth and success. The Operations Manager will coordinate the operations teams, optimize processes, and maintain a seamless flow from order confirmation to final delivery.

Responsibilities (includes but not limited to):

  • Operations Team & Department Management
  • Lead, manage, and develop the Operations team to foster a culture of accountability, innovation, and excellence.
  • Oversee various departments within Operations, ensuring optimal performance and alignment with company goals.
  • Drive clear communication and collaboration across departments, ensuring alignment on key objectives and KPIs.
  • Delivery and Fulfillment Management
  • Ensure that every confirmed job and order is delivered accurately and on time, meeting or exceeding customer expectations.
  • Implement and uphold standards for quality control, logistics efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
  • Monitor delivery schedules, resolve issues that may impact timelines, and streamline fulfillment processes to optimize service levels.
  • Process Optimization and Efficiency
  • Analyze and refine operational workflows, focusing on continuous improvement across the order lifecycle.
  • Utilize metrics and data-driven insights to identify inefficiencies, streamline operations, and maximize resource utilization.
  • Introduce and enforce policies that improve speed, efficiency, and reliability in all operational areas.
  • Risk and Compliance Management
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, including health and safety, transport regulations, and industry standards.
  • Proactively assess and mitigate risks within the operations function, implementing risk management strategies to prevent potential issues.
  • Performance Monitoring and Reporting
  • Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for all operational departments.
  • Provide regular performance reports to senior leadership, including insights on operational effectiveness, cost efficiency, and customer satisfaction metrics.

Essential Skills and Requirements

  • Operations Leadership Experience: Proven experience in a senior operational role, ideally as an Operations Manager or similar, within the Manufacturing, Procurement, or logistics sectors.
  • People Management: Strong track record in leading, managing, and mentoring cross-functional teams, with a focus on accountability and growth.
  • Process Improvement Expertise: In-depth knowledge of process optimization, logistics, and best practices in operations management.
  • Analytical Skills: Proficient in using data analytics and metrics to evaluate performance and inform decision-making.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal teams and external stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Operations Management, or related field (Master's degree is a plus)
  • Experience in a manufacturing business is beneficial
  • Familiarity with ERP, CRM, inventory/warehouse systems
  • Familiarity with project management and planning software
